Mr. Michael Delgado started his musical training on flute at Ruben Dario Middle School and continued his music education at Miami Coral Park Senior HS under the direction of Dr. Michael B. Dressman and Mr. Jason Noble. During his tenure at Miami Coral Park HS, Mr. Delgado performed in the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City and was also selected to perform in the world famous Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia.
Mr Delgado learned tuba his senior year and soon after that toured in the United States and Canada playing contra with the Canadian National Champions The Kiwanis Kavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps of Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Then spent the following two seasons touring the United States and Europe with the DCI World Finalists Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps from Toledo, Ohio. Mr Delgado’s collegiate experience includes three seasons with Florida International University Marching Band.
Scholastically, Mr Delgado has been involved on the education team with: Miami Killian HS, G. Holmes Braddock HS Class 1A FMBC finalist, West Boca Raton HS Class 4A FMBC 1st Runner-up, Hialeah Senior HS, Miami Senior HS Class 1A FMBC 2nd Runner-up, Miami Coral Park HS Class 2A FMBC State Champion, Charles W. Flanagan HS, Cooper City HS, and Hialeah Gardens HS Class 2A FMBC State Champion.
Mr Delgado has also been involved with the WGI Winds activity since the inception working with Flanagan Winds WGI 2018 WSW Gold medalist and the WGI 2019 WSW Silver medalist, Doral Academy Winds, Marjory Stoneman Douglas Winds, and Cooper City Winds. Mr. Delgado is a founding member of the visual team at FIU World Winds since 2015. During his tenure at FIU, the ensemble became the inaugural WGI Winds independent open champion in 2015, WIA 2016 champions, 2017 WIW Bronze medalist, 2018 WIW Fan Favorite. Mr. Delgado went on to become a staff member at Stryke Wynds in 2022 where the group went on to earn the 2022 WIW Silver Medal and the 2023 WIW champion.
In 2019 Mr Delgado took over the role as the visual coordinator for FIU World Winds and visual caption head at Charles W Flanagan HS Falcon Sound marching band. Mr. Delgado also took the role of visual caption head at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2022.
Mr Delgado is extremely excited to continue his role as the visual captain at Hialeah Gardens HS this season!
